A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 22 “Ananas”

I had a crazy busy day, and I had no problem getting through my routine today.  I absolutely believe that he extra energy I feel from being on the Whole 30 is a major reason I felt so good today.  Don’t believe me?  TRY IT!

Today’s video is standard with how my day went, challenges, the HTOD (Health Tip of the Day), and details on what we ate. Pretty standard day, but a good day.

The coming days are a challenge in themselves.  Don’t fall trap to thinking the Whole 24 or Whole 26 is good enough.  Stick to the program!

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 21 “Scarlet Begonias”

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day…I certainly did 🙂

We had a really fun day as a family.  My wife and kids LOVE the show chopped on the Food Network and they wanted to start challenging me in a similar fashion.  So, I got 4 “mystery ingredients” today and had to work my magic!  My ingredients were baby back ribs, tomatillos, mangos, and honey (which unfortunately had to be left out due to Whole 30 restrictions).

I made a quick spice rub for the ribs, and created a tomatillo-mango BBQ Sauce which actually came out pretty good!  Already looking forward to next weekend’s mystery ingredients!

As usual the video includes how my day went, challenges faced, the HTOD, and what we ate in detail.

Hang in there everyone, the end is near!

Bug Out Bags for Kids – How to Keep the Little Ones Safe and Comforted

I have detailed multiple areas of our family’s preparedness strategy, and today I wanted to look in detail at the bug out bags we have prepared specifically for our children.

It’s easy I think to forget about the kids, but their needs are different than us adults, and it times of disaster, making sure they are happy and comforted is super important in my opinion. Adults of course can get scared, but I think it’s a different level for kids. They need things that will make them feel like things are more normal, and that is what we concentrated on. Each of our kids got to individualize the contents of their bags to a certain extent after I put in the things I felt they both needed. This allowed them to feel like each bag was truly their own. I hope everyone enjoys the video, and please feel free to comment with any tips you may have. As always, these bags are ever a work in progress!

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 20 “Don’t Worry Be Happy”

Greetings everyone, hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday!  We certainly did.  We had planned on going out of town to do a little shopping, but quite frankly just felt like staying home in the end.

Today’s video includes the usual: how today went, challenges faced, the HTOD, and details on what we ate.

Everyone HANG IN THERE!  This last week can be a trap because you start to feel like you understand the Whole 30 so “maybe” you don’t need ALL 30 days!  Don’t do it, just stay committed and see it through.  You will not regret it!

Physician Whole 30 – Day 19 “Train Keeps a Rollin”

Hello all, another day in the books!  It was another good day 🙂

It has been a very long day, and in fact a very long week.  Despite the high level of work I have had to do, I’ve had good energy this week, have slept well (except for the night on call!), and I know without a doubt that I feel as good as I do because of the food choices I make in the Whole 30.

Check out today’s video including how my day went, challenges I faced, today’s HTOD (Health Tip of the Day) about whether or not you can actually TRUST yourself, and of course details on what I ate today!

Hang in there because tomorrow we get to the 2/3 mark!

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 18 “Long Night”

It was a looooong night last night on call, so this will be short!

Standard video covering how my day went, challenges, the Health tip of the day (Which I will dub HTOD), and what we ate.

It was a tiring, but really good day.  Does how tired you are ever affect what you eat?  Or the quality of the food you eat?  If it does, today’s health tip addresses that.

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 16 “Roar”

Day 16 of my Whole 30 is complete, and today was a good day.  I felt as good today as I have felt in months, and I have no doubt it is directly related to the changes I have put in place to follow the Whole 30 Challenge.

Today’s video reviews my day, challenges I had, a Health Tip, and of course a detailed review of what we ate!

As we move forward in the Whole 30 it’s important to keep your meals fresh and keep your appetite fulfilled.  In the last 1/3 of the 30 days it’s easy to get into a monotonous cycle with food, and you don’t want to get there.  After all, you want to incorporate as much of this program into your life long term as possible, and mixing up your diet is key to sustainability!

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 15 “Holiday”

Today is a great day because it is halfway on this Whole 30!  It was a good day from the stand point of energy, and that’s a good thing because it was a crazy day!

As usual today’s video includes how the day went, challenges, a health tip, and a detail of what we ate.  I have to say, a pretty basic day from the standpoint of food.  Was a “get through the day” kind of selection day!

Hang in there guys, we are finally on the DOWNHILL stretch!

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 14 “Under Pressure”

Hey everyone, hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I certainly did!  Today was a good Whole 30 day, and I hope this video conveys how things went for me.

Today’s video covers how my day went, the challenges I faced, a Health Tip on getting your sleep in every night, and of course a detail of what I ate.

One of my goals of this video series, and trust me, it’s NOT easy doing a video every day for 30 days!, is to show you what we eat so that you a) have ideas on what to eat and b) see that it’s not impossible!  I work long hours every week, I cook for two kids under 10, and I do it all after coming home from work…normally in around 30 minutes.  It takes planning, but it’s worth it.

Hang in there, tomorrow is half way!
