Also, are you sleeping better the last few days? I speak a bit about that and my theories on why you sleep better while on Paleo or the Whole 30.

Easy Way to Make Tostones – The Microwave “Hack”

Today a quick video on how to make one of my wife and I’s favorite side dishes. I was born in Puerto Rico, and what I miss most about the island is the FOOD!

Traditionally tostones, which are savory fried green plantains, are fried twice. The first fry is to par cook them and soften them enough to smash them into shape. The second fry is to crisp them up!

Instead of frying them first, I simply cook them in the microwave for 5 minutes. The rest of the process is the same as normal. Hope everyone enjoys!

Never made tostones? Make them today!

A Physician’s Whole 30 – Day 5 “It’s the End of the World As We Know It”

All right guys, day 5 down!

I took an opportunity to touch a bit more on this weeks article on Whole30.com concerning the allowance of dried fruit/nut bars while on the Whole 30. I have to say I agree completely with the Hartwig’s choice to remove these items, and I discuss why in today’s video. For some it certainly may feel like the end of the world as we know it!

The biggest thing the Whole 30 does in my opinion is opens up a dialogue between you and food. Why do you eat certain foods? Why do you crave certain foods? Believe it or not, even Whole 30 Compliant foods can trigger unhealthy emotional responses to food.

Learn all you can from your Whole 30, make it count!
